WE CURRENTLY DO NOT PROVIDE A HOME VISITING SERVICE TO NEW PATIENTS.
I know there is a lot of confusion and misinformation about the Covid-19 Pandemic. I want to keep you up to date with what is happening and how I am keeping you safe and healthy when I see you.
Podiatrists and Chiropodists are H.C.P.C registered and regulated professionals. I have high standards to maintain in our cleanliness and decontamination process. I am also guided by the College of Podiatry standards which are updated regularly.
You should always ensure who you see is H.C.P.C registered for the highest quality and standards. Non-regulated foot care should not be undertaken at this time as they are not regulated by UK standards or bodies or exempt from government guidelines.
I am a medical professional and have an exemption to work because of this. Our insurance and professional bodies have some restrictions on what I am are able to do which I will go into further detail about.
I AM NOW ABLE TO SEE ALL PATIENTS OR CONDITIONS.
This means, in addition to people with wounds/infections or at risk of these, I can see people for more routine care such as nail care, corns, callus, cracked heels, verruca etc.
This advice does not extend to home visits at present, only clinic.
When you come for your appointment I will be observing all the health and safety legislation and precautions to keep you, and us, safe. We ask you follow the advice below when coming for an appointment.
Evaluate the Risk
I would welcome patients to make an appointment after evaluating the risk to themselves and their immediate family members. Whilst I will maintain the highest levels of cleanliness within the clinic, there will be a small risk of exposure.
If you, or people you live with, are in a ‘high-risk – or you have any concerns – please consider a telephone or virtual appointment.
When you arrive at the clinic.
Clinic and Admins role in reducing risk
Podiatrist always maintain the highest standard but have additional steps to keep you safe:
We will be strictly closing the clinic at lunchtime daily, 12:00 hrs until 13:00 hrs, to ensure we have time to thoroughly clean the clinic.
Our home visits will be available to those at higher risk, with wounds who are unable to attend clinic. As these appointments are limited and in demand, there may be a delay in when we are able to attend at your home. We cannot offer routine Podiatry at home currently due to restrictions on practice.
Again, we follow the strictest hygiene procedures and criteria but will step up our processes during this time.
I have based this advice and data on recommendations listed below:
